Those over eager guys at Asus have sneaked a confirmed set of specifications out onto the net for one of their new and upcoming cards based on Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 580.
The model that has been described as the Asus Nvidia GTX580 1536MB “Standard Edition”, immediately gives us a huge hint that there is surely going to be a higher clocked version to come in the near future, but for now the limited specs from this model are all that we have to keep us eagerly awaiting.
From what we can see, the “Standard Edition” will come shipped with 1.5GB of GDDR5 graphics memory clocked at 4008MHz on a 384 bit-bus & the core clock speed is said to be at around 772MHz. Connectivity wise there will apparently be dual-DVI connections, an HDMI connection and an analogue VGA connection.
As far as other specifications on this card go, we’re a little bit in the mist. Pricing wise we do have a rough idea of where the “Standard” card will be positioning itself. Converted from Yuan, it works out at around £445 before vat so with that added, we’re looking at around the £500 mark.
We can ceratinly say though that we will be keeping a keen eye on Nvidia as it looks like this Fermi GPU based card will be here a little sooner than we thought.
