New Intel Arc Driver Improves In-Game Overlay and Adds Forza Horizon 6 Support

Intel has released its latest beta graphics driver, version 101.8801, delivering vital “Game On” day-one support for some of the biggest upcoming titles alongside significant enhancements to its software. The update is targeted at the full spectrum of Intel graphics hardware, covering dedicated A-series and B-series desktop cards, as well as integrated graphics built into Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, and the latest processors.
Beyond standard game optimisations, this release signals a major shift in how users interact with Intel’s management software, introducing advanced customisation options and direct communication tools for smoother troubleshooting, although I’ve yet to test these myself, but any improvement is welcome.
Advanced Control and Overlay Features Added to Intel Graphics Software
The most practical change for everyday users comes in the form of a heavily revamped Intel Graphics Software suite. Intel has focused on providing gamers with better telemetry tracking and a simpler way to flag performance issues. The core additions to the software package include a highly customisable on-screen overlay. Moving past basic frame counters, it allows users to select specific target GPUs and displays in multi-monitor setups, pick from predefined layout styles, or configure a fully bespoke appearance. Furthermore, a direct “Report an Issue/Bug” reporting form has been built straight into the settings menu, making it far easier to log performance bugs directly with the engineering team.

Performance Metrics Overlay
Performance metrics are now available in overlay mode. This new overlay offers many customization options including automatic game/app detection, target GPU and display selection, predefined and custom styles, and appearance settings. Overlay can be enabled using the “Metrics Overlay” button in Performance -> Metrics page or using Alt+Shift+O hotkey.
Report an Issue/Bug
Issues or bug can now be directly submitted within Intel Graphics Software. To submit an issue, use “Report an Issue/Bug” button in Settings -> Support page to open the bug report form.
