New Team Fortress 2 Update Breathes Life Back Into The Game

For the longest time, Team Fortress 2 has desperately needed an update, falling far behind its siblings in the Valve family. Even if you like Team Fortress 2 and think it is the best game of all time, you must admit that with its competition with Counter-Strike 2 and DOTA 2, it will always be fighting an uphill battle.

Going off what I just said you may think the game is dead but the truth is the game is still going strong despite its massive competition in the circle of Valve games alone and just 3 years off its 20-year anniversary.

Team Fortress 2 Update

Team Fortress 2 ushered in the era of character-driven modern fps games like Overwatch 2, Valorant and even though it’s not an fps, League of Legends to a small extent. Now with the new update nearly 2 decades after its release its once again climbing the steam charts taking over huge titles like The Elder Scrolls Online, Dead by Daylight and tons more.

Team Fortress 2 Steam Charts

The game has just a whopping 51 places on the Steam Global charts and now has a 24-hour peak of 159,843 concurrent players that was set on Sunday January 7th. This comes less than a month after its all-time peak of 253,997 was set on December 22.
