The memory manufacturer, Active Media Products, has begun shipping a 64GB version of their SaberTooth Z mini 1.8 PATA ZIF SSD.
Measuring only 2.1 x 1.3, this product is the ideal upgrade for laptops, presenting a large improvement over most of the actual 1.8″ HDDs with transfer speeds of up to 80 MB/s.

This advancement demonstrates AMP’s continued commitment to developing ever faster, more capacious solid state storage solutions,” said Jerry Thomson, Active Media Products’ VP of Sales
The SaberTooth Z allows for maximum flexibility in the upgrade as it accommodates a wide range of ZIF cable thicknesses and is 100% compatible with 40-pin ZIF HDDs.

The product is sold either as a standalone or with an upgrade kit that includes a mini screwdriver and a USB-ZIF cloning adapter which allows the user to clone the contents from their current HDD to the SaberTooth Z without any reinstallation needed.
