Despite there being pretty much nothing in terms of confirmed news, we are undoubtedly going to start hearing more and more about the next generation Sony and Microsoft consoles throughout 2019. Every indication suggests that development is already underway. For example, it already seems fairly nailed on that both companies will use an AMD Ryzen based APU for their next console.
Well, fresh speculation has arisen that the codenamed leaked for the system last month may have been incorrect. In a report via WCCFTech, rumours are now pointing towards the development kit being referred to as ‘Anaconda’.
Based on the recent history of Xbox console development, Anaconda makes more sense. Why? Well, you have to look into the recent history. For example, The Xbox One X was codenamed Chuckwalla. In addition, the Xbox One was Durango. Have you noticed the pattern? Yes, for some reason Microsoft seems to err towards lizards for their naming procedures.
This makes a little more sense than the previous ‘Project Scarlett’ name. Then again, the Xbox One X was also ‘Project Scorpio’.
As above, in terms of confirmed details, very little. It is, however, speculated that the Xbox Two (as we shall tentatively call it) will feature a huge upgrade on the technological performance. While the XBox One X might be the most powerful console released to date, speculation says the new console will blow this out of the water. It is even believed to be planned to be massively more powerful than the PS5.
Either way, we shall surely know more by this time next year!
