Nintendo has good news for fans who want the SNES Classic Edition console. They are extending supply and production through 2018, due to popular demand. Originally, shipments were only on schedule until the end of 2017. Moreover, the company is also promising more inventory on hand for the September 29 launch date, compared to the NES Classic launch in 2016.
The Super NES Classic Edition system features 21 all-time favourite SNES games. This includes titles such as Super Mario World, Super Metroid, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and more.
The SNES Classic Edition plugs directly into the TV using the provided HDMI cable, and comes with two wired controllers. It has an MSRP of only $79.99.
In addition to the SNES Classic news, Nintendo is also bringing back the NES Classic. This machine features 30 classic NES games such as the original Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, and more. Like the SNES Classic, the miniature NES system comes with two controllers and an HDMI cable.
The sold-out retro fan favourite console is re-launching around Summer 2018. Which makes sense, so as not to overlap with the SNES Classic’s time in the spotlight.
