Nintendo Switch 2 Aims for 25 Million Units Produced by March 2026, According to Bloomberg
The Nintendo Switch 2 is proving to be a huge success, with many fans purchasing the console during its first few months on the market — especially thanks to the attractive Mario Kart World bundle. From Nintendo’s perspective, however, this is only the beginning.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the company has ambitious short-term production goals.
Nintendo’s Production Target for Switch 2
Nintendo reportedly plans to produce up to 25 million units of the Nintendo Switch 2 by the end of March 2026, which marks the close of the current fiscal year.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that all those units will be sold by that date, but analysts’ sales forecasts aren’t too far off. Experts expect Nintendo to sell around 17.6 million consoles by the end of the fiscal year, while Bloomberg suggests that the company could exceed expectations and reach 20 million units.
Strong Early Sales and Upcoming Game Boosts
Any remaining stock will be ready for the start of the next fiscal year, ensuring availability as new games are released and more players are drawn to the company’s next-generation console.
According to Circana data, Switch 2 sales in the U.S. are already 77% higher than those of the original 2017 model, putting Nintendo in an excellent position for short-term success. Upcoming releases such as Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are expected to further boost demand.
