Nintendo Switch 2 Beats PS5 to Become Best-Selling Console in the US for March 2026
Nintendo Switch 2 has beaten the PS5 and became the best-selling console in the United States in March 2026. This is based on data from Circana, which also shows that the hardware market grew by 69% compared to the same period last year.
This is a strong increase, bringing total hardware revenue to 500 million dollars during the month. Switch 2 led both in units sold and total revenue, showing very strong performance.
Nintendo Switch 2 Leads US Console Market in March 2026
It is worth noting that the PlayStation 5 also grew, with a 3% increase compared to March 2025. However, this was not enough to match the results of Nintendo’s hybrid console, which is clearly performing very well.
The ranking could change in April, especially after the recent price increase of the Sony console, which may affect its sales.
Switch 2 is also doing better than the original Nintendo Switch. In its first ten months on the US market, it has sold 12% more units than the original model during the same period. Based on the March data, Switch 2 is now the second fastest-selling console in US history since 1995.
In other news, a former Nintendo sales lead believes an increase in the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware price is “inevitable” due to rising global costs, such as manufacturing and memory shortages
