There have been some concerns about the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its games, but it seems those issues are already behind us. New information about the console’s sales numbers has been released, and they look very positive.
According to reports from The Game Business, the company NielsenIQ, which monitors the UK video game market, has found that Nintendo Switch 2 has had the best launch ever for a Nintendo console in the UK. It didn’t surpass the sales of the Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5, but it still achieved an impressive result.
Encouraging Sales Numbers
The Nintendo Switch 2 is now the fastest-selling Nintendo console in the UK, outpacing the Nintendo 3DS and selling more than twice as much as the original Nintendo Switch. While NielsenIQ didn’t release exact sales numbers, The Game Business pointed out that the original Nintendo Switch sold 113,000 units at launch, while the Nintendo 3DS sold 80,000 units. Based on this, it’s estimated that Nintendo Switch 2 has already sold more than 160,000 units.

It’s important to note that the sales data covers only the first two days of the Nintendo Switch 2’s market presence. For comparison, PlayStation 5 had the same two-day count, while Xbox Series X/S had five days, and PlayStation 4 had seven days of sales data.
