Nintendo Switch 2 Is Selling 68% Faster Than the Original Switch in the U.S.
According to data from Circana, Nintendo Switch 2 is performing extremely well in the United States, where it has driven the hardware sales segment in October. While all other consoles saw a sharp year-on-year decline, Switch 2 has managed to shine.
In detail, 328,000 units of the Switch 2 were sold in the U.S. last month. The console outperformed the original Switch by 68% in sales during the same launch period and exceeded the PlayStation 4 by 3%, which previously held the record as the fastest-selling console in the U.S. market.
Drop in Sales for PS5, Xbox, and Original Switch
Looking at the overall picture, hardware sales in the United States increased by 36% in October, thanks mainly to the success of the Switch 2, which offset the poor results of other platforms.
The original Nintendo Switch saw a 52% annual decline, the Xbox Series X|S dropped by 37%, and the PS5 fell by 22% compared to the same month last year.
The ROG Xbox Ally also performed well. Although specific sales figures were not revealed, ASUS’s handheld devices recorded a 30% year-on-year increase in sales.
In related news, Nintendo has previously announced that the Switch 2 sold over 10 million units in less than four months.
