Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Controllers Are Quieter with Reduced Vibration
Since the introduction of Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this month, many details about the console, its accessories, and the games that will launch with it have been revealed. One interesting detail that hasn’t been talked about much is about the Joy-Con 2 controllers.
According to information from the official website, the vibration strength of the controllers has been reduced on Nintendo Switch 2. This means that the controllers will be “quieter”, especially in games that use a lot of the HD Rumble 2 feature.
What About the Pro Controller?
This change has also been mentioned on the page that talks about which Nintendo Switch 1 games will work with the new console. The description of the game Everybody 1-2-Switch! notes that the hiding mini-game might be harder to play because the vibration is less strong.
“The volume of the Joy-Con 2 controllers’ force feedback vibrations has been reduced compared to the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers, so it may be more difficult to find hidden Joy-Con 2 in the minigame Joy-Con Hide & Seek,” says the Nintendo website.
Will This Affect the Gaming Experience?
This is a small detail, and aside from a few specific games like Everybody 1-2-Switch, it won’t likely make a big difference to the overall gaming experience. However, it is still a nice change. It’s also expected that the Pro Controller for Nintendo Switch 2 will have a similar, quieter vibration, since it uses the same HD Rumble 2 technology. To know for sure, though, we’ll have to wait until the console is released.
