Nintendo Switch 2 Packaging Is So Thin That a Simple Staple Can Damage Its Screen
The new Nintendo Switch 2 has just been released and is now available in stores. This new model improves on the previous one in almost every way, with better power, new games with higher resolution, and better graphics (and price). Pre-orders for the console sold out in just a few days.
Customers who had pre-ordered the console through Nintendo’s online system or reserved it in stores like GameStop are now facing an unpleasant surprise: the screen of their new Switch 2 is damaged.
Nintendo Switch 2 Packaging Flaw
Several buyers have received their Nintendo Switch 2 consoles with a receipt stapled to the outer packaging. While this shouldn’t normally cause any issues, the problem arises because Nintendo places the console’s screen directly against the thin cardboard of the outer packaging. This caused the staples to puncture the screen.
It is surprising that Nintendo decided to use this kind of packaging. Although the box is fairly stiff, any impact or contact with a sharp object could easily damage one of the most sensitive parts of the device: the screen.
Many Users Affected
Several users have shared photos of their damaged consoles online. One user reported on social media, showing how the staple punctured the screen of their new Switch 2. Other users have posted similar issues, with pictures showing the damage caused by the stapled receipt.
