Nintendo Switch 2 Will Feature Unseen Third-Party Support, Analyst Says
The well-known analyst Mat Piscatella has stated that the Nintendo Switch 2 will offer third-party support like never before. During an interview with GamesRadar, he highlighted the number of announcements made during the console’s presentation, suggesting that things will be very different this time.
Historically, Nintendo consoles have been bought mainly to play Nintendo games, and people haven’t usually turned to them for third-party content if they have other ways to play those games. However, Piscatella believes that this time, things could change. “We haven’t seen this level of support, maybe ever, but at least for a long time – maybe even since the GameCube,” he said.
Nintendo Switch 2 Will Have Unmatched Third-Party Support
Piscatella also pointed out that Nintendo hasn’t focused much on third-party collaborations in past launches, showing that the approach is changing now.
Just hours before the release of sales estimates for the Nintendo Switch 2, Piscatella emphasized that the Japanese company is trying to reposition itself compared to past consoles, including the original Nintendo Switch.
As you might remember, the support from Ubisoft during the launch of the original Switch had dropped significantly compared to the Wii U, offering only one title: Just Dance 2017. However, with the increased power of the new console, the approach this time will be very different.
