Yesterday, Nintendo finally unveiled their latest console and addressed the huge number of rumours surrounding the “NX”. The speculation about the console being a tablet hybrid turned out to be correct and Nintendo decided to call the device the Nintendo Switch. Even though the opening trailer doesn’t give too much away, it provides an insight into the unique form factor and innovative controls. During the video, the console could be used at home on a big screen to create a traditional gaming experience. Not only that, it’s possible to remove the tablet and take it on journeys. Interestingly, the controllers clip onto the tablet or can be moulded into a dedicated controller. The reaction so far has been quite promising and Amazon quickly listed a placeholder way before the release.
Rather amusingly, the Amazon page is now filled with user reviews and people making glowing remarks about Nintendo’s latest project. Here we can see just a brief snippet of the comments:
Granted, this isn’t the first time users have flocked to review a product which hasn’t been released yet. Saying that, it makes a complete mockery of Amazon’s review system and shows why it’s important to do additional research when considering something to purchase. I find it quite amusing that an individual can grade something five stars on the basis of a short, teaser trailer. These thoughts are echoed by Marcel Hatam who states:
