Hello Games continues its road to redemption with No Man’s Sky, however, I’d say we’re not several major updates beyond the point of true redemption as the game is already a shadow of the game that was released, and has since far exceeded any initiation expectations thanks to a plethora of amazing new features and gameplay mechanics. However, it seems they’re still not done, as they’ve just dropped details for the Orbital Update for No Man’s Sky via a new trailer, and yet again, we’re amazed by the progress of the game.
In the new trailer, we can see that the Orbital Update overhauls the space stations, almost completely redesigned, with new external designs, colours, new interiors and improved layouts with things easier to find, but also more to explore.
The Starship Fabricator has been added too, allowing you to build and design your own custom ships from salvaged parts, dismantle unwanted ships, and even repurpose the parts from those.
The Guild System is improved, allowing guild envoys for Merchants, Mercenaries and Explorers Guilds, with a wide range of items available to their members, and you’ll also find these envoys onboard the games’ space stations too.
There are also improvements to the game’s visuals, with a new and improved lighting model, improvements to reflective surfaces, and less noise around those reflections. There’s also a new Game Mode screen, which looks more refined, and the overall UI has had a bunch of minor aesthetic improvements too.
