No Man’s Sky Release Delayed?

Fresh rumours suggest that the much-hyped space exploration game No Man’s Sky, initially set for a June 2016 release for PC and PlayStation 4, has been delayed until at least July or August, according to Kotaku’s “reliable source”.

No Man’s Sky – set in a procedurally-generated galaxy, supported by a complex mathematical formula – was first unveiled by small UK developer Hello Games back in December 2013, and its (now possibly delayed) release date of 24th June was announced in March of this year alongside opening pre-orders and an online merchandise store.

“A reliable Kotaku source was the first to inform us of the delay,” the post reads. “A second source, who works at GameStop, said they received marketing materials today for No Man’s Sky with the original June 21 release date. However, stores were informed that the release date is no longer correct and that they should cover it up with a “Coming Soon” label.”

The accompanying marketing notice reads:

“The release date for No Man’s Sky has changed since the provided posters were printed. Please use a coming soon pop-on to cover up the date and communicate as needed to your guest about the change of release.”

Hello Games is yet to confirm the release date delay, so take the rumour with a grain of salt.
