Performance

Once assembled, the ICON TX really does look the part. It’s still the same iconic ICON shape, but the fabric just makes it look so much more comfortable and inviting. Not that I’m not a fan of the leather designs, as that’s what I’ve used for many years now, but fabric certainly has its own appeal too.

It’s the little details that make this chair a premium quality product though. The fabric is stunning, with a really tight weave and a great feel to it. I love the stitching on the edges too, it’s Germanically neat, and frankly, I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

The logo is stitched in too, which looks a lot more professional than having a transfer or patch attached.

There’s a small noble badge recessed into the backrest too, but you can’t feel it at all when sitting in the chair.

While there is a lumbar support cushion included, I actually prefer the chair without it. It does seem to be a preference thing, as some of us in the office like it, some don’t. However, the backrest is nice and firm, allowing you to confidently push your back into it.

The neck cushion just slips over the backrest, and it’s very comfortable. However, if you like to slouch, it’s more comfortable with it removed. Again, it’s really up to you, and it’s nice to have the choice.

The seat base is fairly hard, as is the case with all noblechair designs. However, it’s not uncomfortable, it’s just very assertive and supportive. Of course, there’s padding, and it uses a tension/spring system as well as foam rather than just foam alone (like we see in cheaper chairs).

One thing I like about the icon is that it’s like the softened all the edge. Everything is more rounded and less aggressive. The side flairs on the backrest are less restrictive, and allow you to move around, and accommodate users with a wider frame too.

There’s an excellent range of movement too, with a good range of height adjustment that will allow the chair to go fairly low. Furthermore, I’m 6ft, and at the maximum setting, even my feet can’t touch the floor.

The 4D armrests are great too, you can turn them inwards and outwards.

Adjust them horizontally, vertically, and slide them front to back to suit your needs.

While they’re a hard-wearing design, there is some padding to them, so it’s comfortable on your elbows.

The same with the seat rest. On many gaming chairs, these flared up aggressively, locking you in the middle like a racing seat. This is more like a luxury movie seat, allowing more movement. You can cross your legs and rest on the sides very comfortably too.

The fabric is also a lot more breathable than the leather or PU leather, so it’s going to be a little more bearable on warmer days. Also, any bare skin won’t stick to the material either, which is great if you’re wearing light clothing… or just gaming in your underwear on a warm summers eve.
