Noctua Delays NH-D15 CPU Successor Until Q1 2023

Noctua is well respected as the premium manufacturer of air CPU cooling solutions. In terms of their mainstream line-up of desktop solutions, however, it’s hard to deny that while the NH-D15 still remains an excellent choice, it’s a fairly dated design now with it coming up for its 8th birthday this August (putting mild revisions to one side). – With this in mind, therefore, Noctua was supposedly scheduled to release its successor this year. – Following a report via TechPowerUp, however, it would appear that this has now been delayed into early 2023!

Noctua NH-D15 CPU Successor Delayed!

The exact reason for the delay is unclear, but as part of their latest roadmap (see below) it has been confirmed that the next-gen NH-D15 has officially been kicked back into Q2 2023. – Now, in terms of what this might represent, your guess is as good as ours. Given how beefy the original/current version is, however, one key aspect of improvement could certainly be made in offering better levels of performance in a slightly slimmer (and kinder to your hands) package!

When looking at other upcoming product releases, however, there are definitely a few intriguing things coming. One is undoubtedly the release of white fans! Cream and beige, black, but white?! What heresy is this Noctua?…

Admittedly though, that desk fan also has my attention. Is this going to be some kind of USB peripheral to keep you physically cool? I certainly hope so!

No Mention of AIO Coolers

It’s no secret that Noctua has been planning the release of AIO liquid coolers for a number of years. Now, admittedly, if/as/when they choose to do that, we doubt that we’re going to see any kind of reference on a publically available roadmap. When these happen, expect a lot of fanfare! – For the moment though, if you have been looking forward to a new alternative to the NH-D15 (other than that huge passive cooler), it seems we’ve got another year to wait!

You can, incidentally, check out the current Noctua NH-D15 via the link here!
