Noctua NH-L9i chromax.black Cooler Review

Exterior Packaging
The front of the packaging carries a sleek black design. One that’s clearly intended to tie into the chromax.black aesthetic of the cooler. With it giving you a nice clear look at the cooler, however, along with the main key features, this certainly ticks all of the right boxes in terms of initial presentation.
As a Noctua product though, don’t be fooled into thinking they wouldn’t use some of their traditional coloring. While none is present on the cooler itself, you can see a little touch of brown to the side. You know, just to remind you who made this cooler!
The rear and side of the packaging give you loads of technical specifications regarding the NH-L9i and, as such, from just a quick look you’ll know exactly what you’re getting here down to the most precise detail.
It’s not exactly the biggest factor, but it should be noted that when you open the box, the presentation of the Noctua NH-L9i is absolutely stunning. Sure, there’s not many parts involved with this cooler, but I rarely see a company (aside from Noctua) go to these lengths (and costs) to provide you with such a feeling of ‘wow!’ when you get inside the packaging.
If nothing else though, this gives you another nice little gentle reminder as to just what a top-of-the-line company Noctua is. In terms of presentation and packaging, the NH-L9i chromax.black gets 10/10 from us!
Accessories!
It may initially surprise you to find that in terms of accessories, there are surprisingly few with the Noctua NH-L9i. While we will go into more detail as to why this is in the ‘installation’ aspect of this review, the short answer is that you don’t actually require much to fit this to your motherboard/CPU.
As you can see below, you are provided with the cooler, a tube of their (highly-excellent) NH1 thermal paste, a low-noise fan adaptor (although we should note we will not be using this in our testing), a Noctua badge, as well as the fixings necessary to attach this to your system.
Finally, you get a product installation manual which is nice, clear, and full of easy to understand diagrams to help you install this. As above, there’s not much, but you’ve got everything you need (with a few extra helpful/nice additions) and that’s all you could want or ask for!
