NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Becomes South Korea’s Best-Selling GPU, Capturing One-Third of Market Share
The graphics hardware market closed 2025 with a clear leader in the mainstream segment. According to data from Danawa Research — South Korea’s top price comparison platform — the GeForce RTX 5060 has achieved a stunning market penetration, accounting for 32.12% of NVIDIA GPU sales in the region.
This report is an important indicator for the global industry, as it reflects real-world consumer trends in one of the world’s most advanced technology markets following the introduction of NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture.
From RTX 4060 to RTX 5060
The turning point came in June 2025 with the official launch of the RTX 5060. Until then, its predecessor, the RTX 4060, dominated the market with a 40.48% share. However, after the debut of the new GPU, adoption was rapid and widespread. By the end of the year, the Blackwell lineup was structured as follows:
- RTX 5060: 32.12% (Clear leader)
- RTX 5060 Ti: 15.61%
- RTX 5070 Ti: ~12%
Danawa’s analysis also shows a link between the power consumption (TDP) of GPUs and their cooling designs. In the RTX 5060 segment, dual-fan models dominate with a massive 95.77% share, mainly due to their thermal efficiency and compatibility with compact Small Form Factor (SFF) builds.
In contrast, higher-end GPUs shift toward triple-fan cooling setups:
- RTX 5070: 87.99% triple fan
- RTX 5070 Ti: 99.59% triple fan
Among manufacturers, PALIT leads the entry-level RTX 5060 market with a 25.2% share, driven by aggressive pricing. Meanwhile, MSI regains dominance in mid and high-end categories, reaching nearly 30% market share with the Ti and 5070 models.
Throughout 2025, the average price of the RTX 5060 saw a healthy adjustment, dropping from 540,000 won to around 480,000 won by year’s end.
However, Danawa warns of possible challenges ahead in 2026. The increased production costs of GDDR7 memory could impact the supply of higher VRAM models. Interestingly, the base 8GB version of the RTX 5060 might remain the most stable option against these cost fluctuations, while the 16GB versions could be more affected by the volatile semiconductor market.
