NVIDIA’s classic GT 730 graphics card is making a surprising comeback, this time with updated models offering 2GB and 4GB VRAM options. Released by the Chinese company Maxsun, the GPUs arrive during the debut of the new RTX 50 series, reviving the decade-old card for budget-conscious users.
The new models , named MS-GT730 Hammer 4G and MS-GT730 Hammer 2G, utilize DDR3 memory and are based on the Kepler 2.0 GK208 GPU. The technical specifications include 384 CUDA cores, a 902MHz GPU clock, and a 1,333MHz memory frequency. Manufactured using TSMC’s 28nm process, these cards have an impressively low power consumption of just 50W. The connectivity options remain simple, featuring VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports.
Maxsun’s GT 730 models focus on affordability and compact size, priced at $45 for the 2GB version and $50 for the 4GB variant. In today’s exchange rates, these are approximately R$272 and R$302, respectively. The card measures 18.6cm in length, 11cm in width, and 3.5cm in thickness, making it suitable for smaller setups.
While the card offers a nostalgic appeal and basic functionality, it’s important to note that NVIDIA ceased support for the Kepler architecture in 2021, meaning these GPUs will not receive security or driver updates. Despite this, the low cost and compact design might make them an option for specific niche applications or lightweight gaming.
