NVIDIA and AMD tend to bundle highly-anticipated mainstream games with their graphics cards to drive sales. It’s a cogent tactic and could be the extra incentive someone needs to think a particular card is worth the money, especially if they were going to buy the included game outright. According to an image sourced by VideoCardz, a promotion involving Watch Dogs 2 is going to become available rather soon. The game will be supplied with qualifying purchases of a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 graphics card. Also, this applies to gaming laptops using either the GTX 1070 or GTX 1080.
Please note, this is a Ubisoft title and the game has to be redeemed via the UPlay client. Even though Valve sells this game on their store, it still requires the UPlay client to start. While it’s not ideal, the UPlay code shouldn’t be a huge issue for most. Also, it will be fascinating to see if Watch Dogs 2 utilises NVIDIA only effects and how the game runs on different hardware configurations. In theory, the PC version should be decent given NVIDIA’s involvement, but there have been cases when bundled games run quite poorly. If you’re looking out for a new graphics card, it might be worth holding out until this promotion starts.
