NVIDIA Leads GPU Market in Q1 2025 with 92% Share, AMD Drops to 8% and Intel at 0%
The first-quarter statistics for the 2025 PC market are in, and they show a clear leader: NVIDIA. The company started the year with a market share of 92% in the AIB GPU sector.
NVIDIA Dominates the AIB GPU Market
According to data from Jon Peddie Research, NVIDIA is firmly in the lead, with an 8.5% increase in its market share. In contrast, AMD has dropped by 7.3%, now holding only 8% of the market. Meanwhile, Intel’s share has fallen by 1.2%, putting it at 0%.
Even though Intel launched its new Battlemage series B GPUs (in the fourth quarter of 2024), its market position hasn’t improved. On the other hand, NVIDIA saw success with the launch of a number of new GPUs, such as the RTX 50 series, followed by AMD with its RDNA 4 line.
Overall, the PC GPU market saw a 12% drop compared to the previous quarter, with a total of 68.8 million units sold. Meanwhile, the CPU market dropped to 61.9 million units. Recently, Intel revealed its upcoming processor plans, with new chips like Nova Lake and Wildcat Lake in the works.
