NVIDIA Officially Reveals RTX 4060 Series Graphics Cards

NVIDIA has today officially announced their RTX 4060 Family of graphics cards delivering all the advancements of the Ada Lovelace architecture starting at just $299.

New RTX 4060 And 4060 Ti

The RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti are the newest cards in the 40 series lineup and deliver unparalleled performance at a fantastic value. These cards deliver twice the performance horsepower of the latest gaming consoles and are perfect for 1080p gaming and even creative work including AI-assisted workloads. With the Ada Lovelace architecture comes DLSS 3 providing incredible performance improvements with AI-generated frames.

The Perfect 1080p Card

In testing the 4060 Ti was found to be fantastic for 1080p resolution gaming and is on average 2.6x faster than the RTX 2060 Super and 1.7x faster than the previous generation 3060 Ti. Without using frame generation the card was instead found to be just 1.6x faster than the 2060 Super.

Fast Memory Specifications

These cards have been equipped with GDDR6 memory of varying quantities and speeds, starting off with the RTX 4060 Ti which features 32MB of L2 cache paired up with 8GB or 16GB of high-speed GDDR6memory. The lesser RTX 4060 instead features 24MB of L2 cache with 8GB of GDDR6. The high L2 cache reduces the demands on the GPU’s memory interface leading to improved performance and power efficiency.

Not Just For Gamers

The GeForce series of cards isn’t just for gamers as creatives can also make use of the power of Ada Lovelace. The RTX 4060 family is backed by the NVIDIA Studio platform bringing RTX acceleration and AI tools at a more accessible starting price. Studio serves live streamers, video editors, 3D artists and many others by supercharging over 110 creative apps with the latest Studio Drivers.

Those who work with 3D modelling will be pleased to see that the RTX 4060 family provides up to 45% better ray-tracing performance than the previous generation RTX 3060 family. AI-powered DLSS 3 can greatly accelerate the viewport in real-time 3D rendering applications.

Broadcasters can utilise the eighth-generation NVIDIA video encoder, NVENC, with best-in-class AV1 hardware encoding with up to 40% better efficiency. Livestreams will appear as if the bitrate was increased by 40% improving the image quality in various popular apps.

Price and Availability

The First of these cards, the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, will be available from May 24th at an MSRP of $399. Following that release will be the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB in July at $499. Finally, the RTX 4060 will also be released in July for an MSRP of $299.

NVIDIA will also be giving away 460 of these cards as a part of the Summer of RTX event, you can learn more at the sweepstakes webpage.
