Nvidia is Already Offsetting the Best AD102 Chipsets for the 4090 Ti?

As often is the way in the tech world, with the Nvidia 4090 officially hitting retailers yesterday, attention has already turned to its successor in the 4090 Ti (even despite the fact that the 4080 is still yet to be released). – Admittedly though, given how incredibly potent the 4090 is, it’s hard to deny that Nvidia has the communities attention by how much better the 4090 Ti could be.

In this regard though, it should be noted that Nvidia has still yet to officially confirm the existence of the 4090 Ti graphics card. I mean, we’re all pretty sure it’ll come. As to exactly when though? Well, only Jensen Huang knows (and he’s not telling us!).

Following a report via Videocardz, however, rumours have started to appear online suggesting that Nvidia is already stockpiling its best AD102 chipset samples ahead of the manufacturing of the 4090 Ti!

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Ti

Some of you might be wondering why this is so significant. And in answer to this, it’s a little technical, but the simplest answer is that not all chipsets are created equally. – While the 4090 and 4090 Ti will be sharing the same AD102 design, some samples which come from the manufacturing floor will be better than others. It’s for similar reasons that many overclockers buy ridiculous numbers of AMD 8350 processors in the hope that, one day, they’ll find a ‘golden’ sample that’ll be able to achieve the highest speeds possible.

Again though, why is this important? Well, the bottom line is that if Nvidia is already putting some of the best AD102 samples to one side for the 4090 Ti, it must mean that its release can’t be too far away. – No, undoubtedly not any time soon, and certainly not before the end of this year, but it might suggest that rather than Summer 2023, it might instead arrive in Q1 2023.

Just a combination or rumour and theory, but if accurate, then the 4090 Ti might be coming a lot sooner than many anticipated!
