NVIDIA Pascal GP102-350 GPU Pictured

Nvidia’s newest flagship consumer graphics card, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, has been all the hype lately and in that regards, this might not be the hottest news for everyone. It might be a different story for those interested in the details and insides.

So far, we’d only seen the official renders released by Nvidia themselves and while they did show the PCB, it wasn’t in great detail. Now we have an actual picture of the GPU used inside the card and it is a first that this particular variant of the GP102 is shown. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be using the GP102-350 (GP102-350-K1-A1) that is very similar to the Titan X’s GP102-400, but there are differences to both the cards and GPUs.

The Titan X and the GTX 1080 Ti features pretty much the same PCB, but the equipment variates a little. The GTX 1080 Ti doesn’t feature the DVI port and it has one less RAM chip. The missing pieces are highlighted in red in the picture below. On the other hand, the Titan X is missing the more advanced power control that the GTX 1080 Ti comes with. There’s still a 7-phase power supply and the removed DVI port allows for a better airflow away from the card.

To summarise the specifications that we already now know: The GPU is the 16nm GP102-350 which features 3584 Cuda Cores, 224 TMUs, and 88 ROPs. The reference card is clocked at 1480 MHz and features a 1582 MHz Turbo. The 11GB GDDR5X memory runs at 11008 MHz on its 252-bit memory bus where it can deliver 484 GB/s bandwidth. The TDP is set to 250W and the card is connected through a 6-pin and an 8-pin power connector. Third party custom cards will come with improved clock speeds and dual 8-pin power connectors instead.

The hype is real and with a release set for March the 10th, it’s just around the corner.
