NVIDIA Releases Hotfix to Address Black Screen Issues on RTX 50 Graphics Cards
NVIDIA has released a new hotfix to try and fix black screen issues with the RTX 50 series graphics cards that have been reported by users in recent weeks. This update is called GeForce Hotfix Driver 572.75 and can be downloaded here. It specifically aims to address the black screen crashes experienced by users of the RTX 50 cards.
Fifth Hotfix Released by NVIDIA
Interestingly, this is the fifth hotfix NVIDIA has released in an attempt to solve this problem, which may be caused by a combination of factors that are not yet fully understood by the company. Initial reactions to the update seem positive, but it will take some time to see if this fix is truly effective or if NVIDIA will need to do more.
In addition, the hotfix also addresses a rare bug that affects overclocked GPUs, which seem to struggle in maintaining their maximum speed after a system reboot.
This is not a great time for NVIDIA, which recently had to admit that there are defective RTX 5090 and 5070 Ti models. The company has assured that the faulty units are very few, but the issue extends to the RTX 5080 models as well. Although the incidence of these problems is low compared to the total number of products, it’s still an issue.
Beyond technical issues, NVIDIA is also facing market difficulties. The company has been accused of limiting the availability of its GPUs to manipulate the market and boost profits on high-end cards.
