Nvidia RTX 50 Series Makes Its Debut in Steam Hardware Survey, with RTX 5070 Leading
The June 2025 report from the Steam hardware survey, considered the most reliable source for identifying the actual hardware used by the global gaming community, marks the official debut of the Nvidia RTX 50 series. This comes after several months of the series being available in the market but not showing high enough usage rates to stand out as a distinct category in the monthly statistics.
Distribution of RTX 50 Series Cards
Among the RTX 50 series, the RTX 5070 topped the list with a share of 0.99% of all registered graphics cards. The RTX 5080 followed with 0.57%, and the RTX 5070 Ti came in at 0.55%. The RTX 5060 Ti had 0.41%, and the RTX 5060 had 0.34%. The highest and most expensive card in the series, the RTX 5090, held a modest 0.19%.
This marks a significant step in the RTX 50 series gaining traction among gamers. Developers and tech companies rely on such data to understand market trends and consumer needs. It’s noticeable that the RTX 5070, the most balanced in terms of performance and price, was the most widely used. In contrast, the RTX 5090 struggled due to its high price and limited availability.
Absence of AMD RDNA 4 and Intel Arc B Cards
Interestingly, neither AMD’s RDNA 4 nor Intel’s Arc B series appeared in the report as independent entries. The usage rates of these cards were below the minimum threshold (0.15%), resulting in them being categorized under “Other.” This highlights Nvidia’s dominance in the graphics card market, holding nearly 90% of the market share, while AMD and Intel maintain only small portions.
However, it’s also worth acknowledging the strong efforts from AMD and Intel, particularly AMD, which has recently released impressive cards like the RX 9070 and RX 9060.
