Nvidia Says “No One Needs Atomic Bombs, Everyone Needs AI”
In a recent interview, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, made a strong statement: “No One Needs Atomic Bombs, Everyone Needs AI.”
For Jensen Huang, the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure should be considered as essential as electricity, water, or national security.
Nvidia CEO: AI Matters More Than Atomic Bombs
Huang highlighted the importance of what he calls “sovereign AI”, a concept suggesting that each nation must have its own independent computing capacity to build and operate AI models without fully relying on external providers. In his view, this technological autonomy will be key in deciding which countries will lead in economy and innovation in the coming years.
Nobody needs atomic bombs, everyone needs AI. AI as you know is modern software, that’s where I started. From general-purpose computing to accelerated computing. From human-written code to AI written code. That foundation cannot be forgotten. We reinvented computing and everybody needs computing. All of the countries realize that they have to get into the AI world.
The Nvidia CEO commented that the race for artificial intelligence is already underway and that those who invest early in infrastructure will have an advantage in the future. For him, AI will not only transform industries such as manufacturing and energy but will also become a pillar of national security.
Several countries are already taking steps in this direction. Nations in the Middle East and different regions of Europe are building data centers and deploying powerful computing capacities to support AI development. Huang believes this trend will only accelerate as governments recognize that AI is an indispensable resource.
