Nvidia Titan Xp Powered By GP102-450 GPU

After Nvidia unveiled the new Titan Xp earlier in the week, various reports about the card have already started surfacing. As we all already know, the new graphics card features the full GP102 die from the GTX 1080 Ti and Titan X Pascal. In addition to some more details about the GPU, we now have some performance figures which have popped up to share.

First up, the 3840 cores, 240 TMUs and 96 ROPs come from the new GP102-450 die, a variant of the cut-down GP102 we’ve seen before. With all 30 SMs enabled, it the 1582 MHz clock speeds pushes out 12 TFLOPs of performance. This is enough to push into dual GTX 1070 SLI configuration performance levels in 3DMark Fire Strike. Overall in the synthetic 3DMark tests, the Titan Xp comes out about 10% ahead of the GTX 1080 Ti.

The card was also tested in one real world title in Rise of the Tomb Raider Benchmark. Clocking in at a high 1898 MHz with 14.5 TFLOPs, it managed to score 94.5 FPS at 1080p for the built-in benchmark. With the release of the GTX 1080 Ti, the Titan X Pascal and the Titan lineup lost their purpose. It appears that the Titan Xp will have no trouble seizing back the crown just as its predecessor Titan Black did.
