NVIDIA to Launch 10,000 GPU Infrastructure in Germany to Boost AI Manufacturing in Europe

NVIDIA to Launch 10,000 GPU Infrastructure in Germany to Boost AI Manufacturing in Europe

At the GTC conference in Paris, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang introduced a groundbreaking vision for the future of manufacturing. According to Huang, future manufacturing companies will need two factories: one for producing physical goods and the other to generate the intelligence that powers them. This philosophy is at the core of NVIDIA’s strategy to dominate the European industrial AI market.

A Major Investment in Germany

Germany will host the world’s first industrial AI cloud, marking NVIDIA’s most ambitious investment in Europe. This German facility will be equipped with 10,000 GPUs, featuring NVIDIA DGX B200 systems and RTX PRO servers designed for running CUDA-X libraries and RTX-accelerated workloads. The infrastructure aims to accelerate the development and adoption of AI across European manufacturers, paving the way for future AI gigafactories. This facility will be a key launchpad for AI-powered manufacturing in Europe.

The European Commission has already announced plans to invest $20 billion in AI infrastructure, although it remains unclear who will finance NVIDIA’s initiative. This project fits into a broader strategy to make Europe more self-sufficient in industrial AI, reducing its reliance on external tech suppliers for crucial technologies.

AI Penetrating Traditional Sectors

Big names in the automotive industry like BMW, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Schaeffler are already testing AI-powered applications developed by Ansys, Cadence, and Siemens, all utilizing NVIDIA hardware. These partnerships demonstrate how AI is impacting traditional European industries, including automotive design, simulation, and robotics.

The beauty industry is also embracing AI, with L’Oreal backing a startup that collaborated with Accenture to develop the AI Beauty Matchmaker using the AI Refinery platform. This shows how AI is transforming even the most consumer-oriented and creative sectors.

Across the financial sector, companies like BNP Paribas and Finanz Informatik are constructing their own AI factories using NVIDIA’s technology. This shows the growing need for sovereign AI agents that are crucial for highly regulated industries like finance, healthcare, and governance.

NVIDIA has announced new tools that will make it easier to build large-scale AI factories, whether on-site or in the cloud. These installations will allow governments and organizations to create their own sovereign AI agents, customized for regional cultures and languages, offering enhanced security compared to third-party AI solutions. Digital sovereignty is becoming a key factor in Europe’s AI competitiveness on the global stage.

NVIDIA has also launched the DGX Cloud Lepton marketplace, a platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses. This platform lets companies rent computing power for their AI needs, democratizing access to advanced AI technology and removing the financial barriers that typically limit innovation to large corporations.

A Transformational Shift in European Manufacturing

The new facility in Germany is more than just a data center; it is the heart of an industrial ecosystem set to radically change how Europe designs, manufactures, and manages its products. Huang emphasized that this initiative will help Europe’s industrial giants move toward AI-driven manufacturing and simulation, laying the foundation for what could be called the fourth industrial revolution in Europe.
