Most people think we have seen a full release from Nvidia’s GTX 600 series since we now have the all the intervals filled from the GTX 690 down to the GeForce 610. Although, reports are emerging that Nvidia has at least one more release to come before it calls it quits on the GTX 600 series.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti is the next rumoured card, and the reasoning behind it makes all the more realistic.
The GTX 650Ti will feature a price point between the GTX 650 ($110) and the GTX 660 ($230). Its performance should also be roughly between the GTX 650 and GTX 660 too. It will be based on 28nm GK106 chip (same as the GTX 660) with 576-768 Cuda cores, 24 ROPs and a 2GB GDDR5 memory spreads across 192-bit wide memory interface. It is rumoured to have 6008MHz of effective memory clock resulting in 144.4GB/s bandwidth. The reference model is expected to cost between $169 and $189.
With Nvidia making only one GK106 GPU thus far, the GTX 660, it makes sense for them to have at least 2 or 3 “lower end” cards from the same GPU. This way any “GPU wastage” that didn’t quite make it as a fully fledged GTX 660 can be repackaged as a GTX 650Ti or another lower end card.
