NVIDIA hopes to bring the power of PC gaming to Apple fans and it’s using cloud computing to facilitate it. The GeForce Now service – available for NVIDIA Shield for a couple of years now – is bringing the power of NVIDIA graphics cards to Apple Mac computers. GeForce Now for Mac allows MacBook users to connect to GeForce GTX-powered virtual machines to support high-end gaming. In addition, the system supports game streaming through the Steam, Origin, GOG, and Uplay services. However, PC fans shouldn’t despair: NVIDIA is rolling out GeForce Now to PCs, too. Though, the company is yet to reveal the timescale for the PC version’s release.
In addition, NVIDIA explains macOS doesn’t support Xbox 360 controllers. However, it does point to a third-party solution.
“All titles listed in our GeForce NOW beta app as supported games have been tested to work well with GeForce NOW for Mac. This ensures that you get optimal playable settings, the ability to cloud-sync saved games, and express install options so they load once—in just seconds.”
GeForce Now for Mac Beta is available now in North America and Europe. Indeed, the service is downloadable here.
