NVIDIA’s Next-Gen RTX 60 Rubin Architecture Speculation Has Already Started

Whispers surrounding NVIDIA’s next-generation RTX 60 series graphics cards are intensifying, despite the recent launch of the RTX 50 series in recent weeks, the industry never sleeps. Leaks suggest a significant leap in performance and features, including the new “Rubin” architecture. While it’s already expected this will bring more performance, enhanced ray tracing, and all that usual stuff, leaker harukaze has already started the speculation train for the future of Nvidia GPUs.

According to reports, the RTX 60 series will be powered by the new Rubin GPU architecture. This architecture, coupled with a rumoured move to TSMC’s advanced 3nm process technology, is expected to deliver substantial performance gains. With speculation pointing towards a 10% uplift in rasterisation performance and a 20% increase in ray tracing capabilities compared to the previous generation. This honestly tracks pretty well with what we’ve seen from the last few generations of hardware, so it’s easy to believe.

One of the most exciting prospects is the anticipated arrival of DLSS 5. This next iteration of NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling technology would offer the next generation of technologies for upscaling and frame generation. Still, again this is all fairly easy stuff to predict. Rubin has been on the Nvidia schedule for some time now (See above) with its “Rubin Ultra GPU 125 HBM4” design. While currently poised for a 2026 release, it could be seen as early as Q3 2025, but no doubt current debates over tariffs and manufacturing may throw a big spanner in the works for GPU production and costs.

It’s important to note that these details are based on leaks and rumours. NVIDIA has yet to officially confirm any specifications for the RTX 60 series. While the information paints an exciting picture of what’s to come, it should be treated with a degree of healthy scepticism, and a fist full of salt.

That being said, 3nm, HDM4, larger memory, next-generation DLSS, and a sniff of other technologies such as NVLink 6 (largely for datacenter stuff rather than dual GPU gaming) and more seem pretty much on track for Nvidia’s future gaming hardware.

What Would You Like?

I think it’s fair to say that faster performance and higher prices are becoming the norm for flagship gaming hardware, like it or not, we can’t see prices coming down any time soon. However, aside from the price, what would you like to see in the next generation of graphics cards? Smaller sizes, quieter, new technologies, dual-GPU support? Let us know in the comments!
