Building on the success of the NZXT Phantom and Phantom 410, the Californian based company have now released their latest addition to the lineup, which has been in the marking for two years.
The Phantom 820 from NZXT works on the unconventional design that we originally saw with the original Phantom and with a lot of time spent with engineers and designers, NZXT believe they’ve created the ultimate chassis with a ton of new features for the consumer.
Among the new features including the radical new design, integrated HUE lighting system, larger watercooling radiator support, built in fan controller, space for up to 8 fans and adjustable pivoting fan mount.
Coming in at 235mm x 650mm x 612mm (W x H x D) we see support for E-ATX, XL-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards and with support up to 13.8 inch graphics cards, it should be future-proof for a while yet. Made from plastic and steel, we see the same stylish contours and lines that made the original Phantom so successful and with so much space for components, the chassis should appeal to a variety of users.
The Phantom 820 includes 9 expansion slots for those wanting to get in some extreme CrossFire/SLI gaming action, 4 external 5.25″ drive bays, 6 internal 3.5″ drive bays and a screwless rail design.
Cooling is at the heart of this case and NZT have clearly put a lot of thought into it with four pre-supplied fans including a 200mm front fan operating at 800rpm, a 200mm top fan operating at 800rpm, a 200mm side fan operating at 800rpm and a 140mm rear fan operating at 1100rpm. On top of this, we find space for more fans scattered around the case and we invite you to check out our fully-extensive review of the Phantom 820 here.
