As the NZXT E850 is an 850w power supply, we already know that this has quite a lot of oomph behind it. It is always important though that if a power supply is pushed hard (or more accurately, too hard) that it has the protections in place to make sure it doesn’t damage itself or any other components.
In this test, the power supply gave excellent results. The OPP test found that this power supply was able to draw another 357 watts of power before it’s protections kicked in. When you consider that this is 42% higher than the base amount, there’s no reason to suggest that this power supply couldn’t handle 1000 watts when asked without any problems.
