NZXT H400i Tempered Glass Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The NZXt H400i is available now from most major retailers with an MSRP of £149/$149. However, it’s already being priced competitively. A bit of Google-Fu and you can find the various colour options priced between £119.99 and £134.99! I’m not going to sugar coat it, that’s an expensive chassis. However, for the quality and features on offer, it’s priced very fairly.

Overview

The H700i is without a doubt my number 1 chassis of choice on the market today. It’s super sleek, super clean, and comes packed full of premium features. However, not everyone needs a £200 ATX chassis. For those who desire a Micro-ATX model, and want to save a few quid on the chassis, the H400i fits the bill perfectly.

Design

The H400i is a stunning looking product. Of course, that’s subjective, but I think you’ll be hard pushed to find fault with the aesthetics. The fact that NZXT provides four colour choices is also great news for system builders, as you can easily find one that suits your taste. I love the black/black model we reviewed, however, it’s the white model that still has a place in my heart.

Build Quality

This is one of the best-built chassis on the market. All the panels are built with precision and durability in mind. Everything fits like a glove, and component mounts are all placed with thought and care. The inclusion of good quality dust filters on all intakes is very welcome too.

Added Value

This isn’t a cheap chassis, but the devil is in the details here. Sure, you get dust filters, which I already covered. However, you also get three premium quality AER fans; two intakes and one exhaust. There are two RGB LED strips with CAM software support and motherboard RGB header compatibility. There’s a built-in fan hub and controller, again with CAM support, and a built-in microphone for optical noise control. Furthermore, a PSU shroud, front 2.5″ drive mount, excellent cable routing, a tempered glass side panel window, and much more.

Should I Buy One?

With this level of quality, design, and practicality, it’s going to be hard to beat what the H400i has to offer. You can get great chassis for less money, but if you want the best in class, you’ll have to dig a bit deeper into your wallet. I can’t recommend this chassis enough for enthusiast system builders planning their next mATX system.
