How Much Does it Cost?

The NZXT LIFT 2 SYMM Lightweight Gaming Mouse is available right now from Amazon for a very modest £52.99, which is a bit cheaper than I was expecting it to be given its overall features and performance. It’s available in either black or white, with both models costing the same. I would say you can get the old model for around £39.98 but stock seems to have dried up so I’m guessing they’re end of life, but overall, the LIFT 2 launches with the same MSRP as the old model, despite the heavily upgraded hardware and design.

Overview

NZXT first hit the market with their LIFT gaming mice in 2022, and at the time, they were perfectly decent mid-range gaming mice for around £50. However, they’re back now in 2024 with some significant revisions in the LIFT 2. The old PixArt 3389 optical sensor was 16,000 DPI, but that’s been swapped for the must better PWM3395 which has a higher DPI and better tracking, it’s one of the best sensors on the market right now.

The old Omron mechanical switches have been swapped out too, in favour of the newly NZXT-designed Optical Mechanical Switches, which are rated for an incredible 100m clicks, so are unlikely to ever wear out. The cable has been upgraded, and now features a more premium and lighter design as well as that gorgeous paracord sleeving. There are also now more premium PTFE feet too, so it glides better than ever.

It’s been on a diet too, taking the weight down from an already very light 67 grams to just 58 grams, which is pretty impressive, as the overall build quality and durability feel better than ever. The mouse may be light, but it feels robust, and adding the upgraded switches and sensor shows that NZXT has gone all-out on the quality here.

Should I Buy One?

Honestly, I love this mouse, NZXT has put serious effort into taking an existing popular gaming mouse and making it the best mouse it can be while retaining a very competitive price tag. The only thing I would critique is that the SYMM is a symmetrical design but is still only a right-handed mouse. I think if they’re going to make it symmetrical at least go the whole way and give it dual side buttons for ambidextrous users, as they already have a purely right-handed ergonomic version of this mouse called the Ergo, and more distinction between the two would be cool. However, that doesn’t take away how great this mouse is for daily work and gaming.
