OCZ unveils new Vector SSD, sports in-house developers Indilinx-based controller

IDF 2012 has been quite interesting this year, where OCZ has unveiled a new 2.5-inch SATA 3 SSD which they’ve dubbed the Vector. OCZ’s Vector will replace the company’s Vertex 4 as the top-of-the-line SSD that OCZ has on offer.

Just like the Vertex 4, Vector sports an Indilinx controller, but to change it up it’s now the Barefoot 3, developed completely in-house with no help from Marvell designs. OCZ’s Vector should arrive in some nice flavours such as 256GB and 512GB, later in the year.

At the moment, the good stuff such as IOPS, read/write speeds as well as pricing all remain in a vault over at OCZ’s HQ.
