I’m not so sure the new title is needed, given the classic status of the original, but this is more than just a standard HD make over, as the reimagining of the classic game will feature fully 3D rendered environments with ‘2.5D’ gameplay, levels that have been redesigned to take advantage of the new engine, rerecorded sounds and voices, including some surprises and full integration with gaming platforms. So I would expect support for some kind of online integration, achivements, possibly Kinect and Move support and more when the game launches.
The game will launch on Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade and Sony’s PlayStation Network for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, with a Microsoft Windows PC version due later.
