Android Central reports that Chinese smartphone vendor Oppo has just unveiled its latest high end handset simply named the “N1”. The Oppo N1 is a 5.9 inch handset using a 1080p IPS display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 chipset with a quad core 1.7GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of storage and a rather large 3610 mAh battery. One of the major selling points is its rotating camera which has a /3.06-inch, 13-megapixel sensor, f/2.0 aperture and six lenses. There’s also a dual-mode flash designed to be optimised for either front or rear firing photos.
The Oppo N1 is also backed by some other interesting innovations such as “O Click” – a portable accessory that can clip to a keyring and control the phone via Bluetooth. There’s also a touchpad on the rear of the phone to allow you to more ergonomically scroll and make gestures simply by sliding your finger up and down the back of the handset. Oppo claim support for the Android tweak Cyanogen Mod through its Android 4.2 Jelly Bean implementation that features Oppo’s color UI. Oppo’s color UI boasts 410 design improvements over Google’s vanilla OS. The phone will come with quadband GSM and pentaband HSPA+ support but not LTE. There is currently no plan for Oppo to launch the handset anywhere other than in its home nation China which is expected to get the handset next month.
