CES 2016: Overclocking via liquid nitrogen can appear like a very daunting process requiring vast amounts of technical knowledge and first-hand experience. While this is certainly true to reach the top scores, there’s always an entry into this area via demonstration videos and helpful tutorials. During CES 2016, Professional overclockers Hicookie and Boris_sdk streamed their world record attempts and provided a great insight into the process. If you’re interested in seeing the footage, it’s available via the Twitch Archive.

The duo successfully overclocked a Core i3 6100 to just over 6.2GHz using BCLK adjustments on a Gigabyte Z170X-SOC Force LN2. This resulted in 4 new global records in Wprime 32M (6.224sec), Wprime 1024M (3min 19.24sec), HWBOT Prime (5442.34 pps) and GPUPI for CPU 1B (8min 34sec 889m).
