New Overwatch Character Suspected To Be Torbjorn’s Daughter

New Overwatch Character Revealed?

I must admit, I am a fan of Overwatch. The varied levels, characters, and team playing modes have made it one of the best first-person shooters in many years. In addition to this, Blizzards near-constant efforts to try and keep the game fresh and innovative has certainly helped keep players on board. Blizzard clearly has some sort of voodoo when it comes to keeping communities together within games.

In the latest reveal, however, it would appear that a new character is on the way and it is suspected to be Torbjorn’s daughter.

Build ’em up! Break them down!

When it comes to Overwatch, Torbjorn is definitely one of my favorite characters. His turret building capability combined with a decent attack makes him a lot of fun from a tactical aspect. Admittedly, it’s also hilarious when a ‘play of the game’ is just a video of Torbjorn smacking his turret with a hammer.

Following some Twitter posts from Blizzard, it would seem that the latest addition to the game might be his daughter.

In the above post, “I’ll knock some sense into you!” is clearly a semi-reference to Torbjorn’s turret building capabilities. The question mark though is regarding the schematics. While Torbjorn does use a hammer, it’s a hammer in the traditional sense. What is in the picture is almost like a combination of a Torbjorn’s mallet and Reinhard’s sledgehammer.

Although I am not particularly well versed in the lore, I am told that the characters do have a history which led to Reinhard naming Torbjorn’s daughter. The evidence, therefore, is clearly there.

More evidence!

What some of the more eagle-eyed community has noticed, however, is the pad located in the bottom right corner. In a report via PCGamesN, I am informed that this is in Swedish.

Given that Torbjorn is the only Swedish character in the game, the plot, again, thickens.

Blizzard has of course never been afraid to tease upcoming content and new characters are always good news for the game. I can still remember the hype surrounding Doom Fist, particularly the communities hope that Terry Crews would voice him.

The update, which will include the character is also apparently going to include a brand new map set in Turkey. So things for Overwatch are, as always, looking good.
