Overwatch Uprising Comic Strip Gives More Clues To Upcoming Content

After the recent clip uploaded to the Overwatch Twitter account, fans of the game will be pleased to know that an Overwatch Uprising comic strip has been released which gives us more clues to the upcoming event, which should land on the 11th April.

It seems Blizzard have listened to the feedback from fans of the game, who wished for more ways to explore and understand the story of Overwatch, whether it be things from the past, or about new heroes, it seems the story has really gathered the collective imaginations of its player, and that’s fantastic.

The comic takes us back to when Tracer is a new recruit who is only just starting to get to grips with her abilities following her accident. If you’re unsure of Tracer’s story, I suggest taking a look at her short, along with all the others, they are great.

As the Twitter clip suggested, the upcoming content will be based around an uprising in King’s Row, and it seems we may even get a new game-mode, or even content that can be enjoyed solo. It could be a simple scenario, a game mode that has been used before by Blizzard in World of Warcraft. These game modes take up back, or forward, to a point of the story, and you then play the part of a particular character and play out what has happened, or what is yet to take place.

If you’re a fan of Overwatch, I suggest you take a look at this comic strip, it’s a nice little read, and should hopefully set you up nicely for when the content lands in a few days time. To give you a clue as to how good this content Blizzard think it is, Renaud Galand said;

“I can’t wait to share more of this as it is, in my opinion, one of the best thing we have worked on since launch!”

Jeff Kaplan stated;

“The event is going to be something – when players see the event and play the event, I think they’ll see that we’ve been listening to their feedback. We’ve been hearing a lot of desire for more story, people want to know more about the story of Overwatch, they want to know more about the past of Overwatch. I think they want to know more about what’s going on between omnics and humans in this world and how did we get there. I think a lot of that will be answered for them.”

Let’s hope it’s as good as they claim it is, I for one cannot wait for this after recently starting to play it after a bit of a break. Roll on the 11th April!

What are you hoping this event to contain? Is there anything in particular you’d like to see?
