Ozone Argon Ocelote World Pro Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

Ozone is one of the coolest names in the gaming world and their dedication to supporting the eSports community is still going strong. One thing that really caught out attention is their Ocelote World gaming mouse, which borrows the name from legendary eSports player Ocelote, who also helped Ozone design the new Argon gaming mouse, to make it a prime choice for other eSports players.

eSports demands the best in terms of performance and reliability, if you’re in the middle of a competitive game, either at home or at a LAN gaming tournament, the last thing you want is poor sensor performance, or a switch that fails, or any sub-par performance for that matter. Ozone has delivered great gaming products before, but the eSports community is a tough crowd, so I’m eager to see how this new mouse performance.

“I’m not an expert when it comes down to DPIs, laser sensors and so on… But what I’m good at is knowing if what I’m playing with is comfortable and simply good, or not. After testing many different shape designs, sensors and textures with the ozone engineering team we have developed the best mouse I have ever tested. Argon Ocelote is extremely comfortable, amazingly precise and it has the quality a professional player needs ingame.“ – Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez.

Everything you need is included in the box; the hard-wired mouse, user manuals and a small zip up bag for the weight tuning system.

The little bag stores 4 x 4.5g weights, which can be added to the mouse to fine tune it to your personal preference.

The mouse is really nicely designed and has a mixture of soft matte black surfaces and bright orange highlights. It may be a little too loud of a design for some, but I rather like it.

Down the left side, you’ll find a pair of switches, some soft rubber grip and a clear strip to allow the LED lighting to pass through.

The mouse has an ambidextrous design, so the right side is identical to the left side.

The mouse has a nice set of curves that give it a low profile and a nice ergonomic shape that will be well suited to both left and right-handed players. The mouse is shaped to best suit claw grip play styles.

There’s a deep curve to each mouse button, giving your fingers a good resting position so that you never lose your grip on the mouse. The scroll wheel has a soft rubber grip and deep ridges that make it very easy to control, despite the fact that it’s heavily recessed into the mouse body. Behind the scroll wheel, you’ll find a pair of switches for on-the-fly DPI toggling, the settings for which can be adjusted in the downloadable software.

There are two small slip mats on the base of the mouse, but since the mouse is super light, it glides effortlessly on everything from hard cloth to softer mouse mats. There’s a twist-lock cover on the base of the mouse for the weight tuning system.

The base is easily removed and there is a rubber disc on the inside that can easily house the extra weights, which is great for tuning the balance and glide of the mouse.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
