Ozone Onda 3HX Gaming Headset Review

The headset comes with almost everything you need in the box, a lot of headsets don’t come with the adaptor needed to connect to your Xbox 360, this one is no different, so you may need to but one separately, but fortunately for me I was able to connect this set directly to the red and white Aux on my TV and surround sound, but not everyone will have a TV setup with this capability.  The cables included are superb in terms of quality and feel, the main cable is heavily braided and so is the cable from the control unit to the headset, which again makes it look and feel a lot more expensive than it is, it should also help keep the cables in good condition with heavy usage and extend the headsets lifetime.

Connecting the set to PC was very easy, when I hooked up the USB cable the device installed immediately (Windows 7 64bit), same with the microphone, just connected the 3.5mm jack to my sound card and had no problems with that.

The included microphone keeps with the high quality approach too, it’s completely removable, should you have no use for it, but when you do it’s fully flexible and adjustable, yet sturdy enough that you don’t feel your going to break it any time soon.

The in-line controller is unfortunately the cheapest feeling component on this set, I think it’s just down to the use of different plastics compared to the headset, meaning it doesn’t feel as sturdy as the rest of the equipment, that being said it’s decent enough to take a few knocks and it’s far from being a deal breaker in this price range.

The controller has a microphone mute button with a red/green light to let you know if mute is active, a side switch for flicking between PC or Game mode and a volume dial, which are all well placed and easy enough to find after you’ve clipped it onto your shirt.
