Patriot Pyro SE 120GB Solid State Drive Review

The AS SSD software determines the performance of Solid State Drives (SSD). The tool contains five synthetic and three practice tests. The synthetic tests determine the sequential and random read and write performance of the SSD. These tests are performed without using the operating system caches. In Sequential tests the program measures the time it takes to read a 1GB file to write respectively.

AS SSD saw some impressive speeds, even on the write side of things. The original Pyro saw a lot lower results, so it goes to show that the synchronous memory really has had a part to play with the Pyro SE and has paid off where it counts for both read and write speeds.
