In the traditional year-end article by 4Gamer.net, where several Japanese developers share their goals for the upcoming year, Atlus revealed its possible plans to unveil news about Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival, suggesting that major announcements may arrive in 2026.

Nothing is confirmed yet, of course. These New Year messages are often vague, but some statements strongly suggest that big updates for the Persona series are on the horizon, especially since 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise.

Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival Announcements May Arrive in 2026, Says Atlus

Considering that one new game is already confirmed to be in development and may release by next year, while the next main title has likely been in production for some time, it seems very likely that Atlus will use this anniversary celebration to reveal more about both projects.

Atlus’ Comments on the 30th Anniversary Celebration

“The Persona series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026,” said Atsushi Nomura, who worked on Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Tactica.

“I would like to express my gratitude to those who have supported us for a long time, as well as to those who have newly discovered Persona, and I hope to make it a year in which Persona can reach even those who have not yet experienced it.”

He added: “We’ve also received a lot of support for Persona 4 Revival. We’re very much looking forward to the day we can make another announcement, so please continue to give us your support.”

This statement clearly hints at new information about Persona 4 Revival, though there also appears to be a reference to the next major title.

“The Persona series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. As a token of our gratitude to everyone, we’re preparing a wide variety of initiatives on a global scale, so please look forward to them,” said Kazuhisa Wada, director of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload.

“Additionally, we believe there will be opportunities in 2026 to talk about future developments for the series. Preparations are steadily coming together, and all of us at ATLUS will be giving it our all to build excitement around Persona.”

This statement strongly suggests that Persona 6 could finally be officially revealed during the anniversary events.

In other news, Sega revealed a new sales milestone for Persona 5 and its related titles. The series has now sold 13 million copies in total, including the main game and its spin-offs.
