Phanteks Eclipse G500A Mid-Tower Case Review

Complete System

Without a doubt, this is one truly stunning PC case. It’s the little details that really add up though. Such as the rubber gasket on the side panel window, ensuring it seals nice and cleanly. Or the sliding cable routing covers that allow for clean cable management.

Then there’s the sheer size of it. I went with some big hardware here, but it’s still nothing compared to what it could handle. A Noctua D15S would even look small in here. There’s an excellent amount of clearance on all sides, which is no bad thing given the size of newer hardware and certain power connectors that need more room.

The airflow throughout the case is superb, with clean cable management and good quality fans in the front ensuring smooth airflow throughout.

The ability to install lots of liquid cooling will certainly appeal to many of you too. There’s more clearance above the motherboard that I usually see on any other case, so it’ll be very easy to install your hardware here.

In the front, the fans are mounted on the front of the case, not in the interior, so this frees up a lot more space too. Even with some of the biggest RTX 4090s on the market, you may still be able to get a radiator in the front.

The inclusion of a triple slot vertical GPU mount is nice too, and it gives you a way to really show off your GPU cooler design through the side panel window.

Plus, the GPU benefits from its own cable routing hole; all cases should have these!

The RGB in this case is pretty cool too. There’s a strip of it running the full length of the PSU shroud, providing a really cool highlight. Obviously, that’s synced up with the pre-installed fans too, further enhancing the effect.

There’s another RGB strip built into the top of the front panel. However, it’s how cleanly the fans illuminate the case interior and light up the front panel mesh design that really stands out. I doubt the black version will be this vibrant though.

The white paint reflects everything and makes this case look like it’s really glowing like a neon light, and I love it.

It’s total overkill, and I must admit, I do prefer a more understated build myself, but hey, not every build has to be a dull black box in the corner. This one is a show case, and if you want to really draw attention to your sweet new build, this will get the job done.

Being able to control the ARGB from the front I/O controls is nice too, but you can sync with your motherboard if you desire.
