Physicists from Rutgers university have made organic semiconductors which can be rolled like a piece of paper and can even withstand rugged handling. They stated that many numerous crystalline devices that they’ve tested revealed that there was no degradation of display performance after the semiconductor was bent. This can be applied in bendable/wearable displays, however its still required to be evaluated if it can be used in an everyday environment.
The researchers are confident that the durability of the semiconductors will be able to handle it as the tests they’ve done involved sharp bending and even repeated flexing, compression and stretching.
